Job Description

Job Title: Yoga Instructor

Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time

Department: Group Fitness / Wellness

Reports To: Group Fitness Manager or Fitness Director

Compensation: Hourly rate or class rate, based on experience and certifications

Position Summary

The Yoga Instructor is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and effective yoga classes for members of all skill levels. This role supports the wellness goals of clients through structured and inspiring instruction that aligns with the organization's values and fitness philosophy.

Key Responsibilities • Lead a variety of yoga classes (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, Power) for all levels • Provide instruction on correct form, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices • Adapt classes for participants with varying levels of experience, flexibility, and physical limitations • Create a welcoming and supportive environment that reflects a non-judgmental and inclusive atmosphere • Maintain class energy, motivation, and safety at all times • Educate participants on yoga philosophy and mind-body connection when appropriate • Arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled class • Keep studio space clean and organized before and after class • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and development workshops as required • Promote additional fitness programs, events, and services offered by the facility

Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent • 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification from a recognized school (Yoga Alliance preferred) • Current CPR/AED certification • At least 1 year of experience teaching yoga in a group setting (preferred) • Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills • Ability to safely instruct and modify poses for a diverse group of participants

Preferred Skills • Experience in specialty yoga styles (e.g., prenatal, hot yoga, chair yoga) • Knowledge of meditation, pranayama, and holistic wellness practices • Passion for helping others achieve physical and mental wellness
